Christmas in the British Virgin Islands is a very special time. Like most British or former British Territories from mid-December or earlier the Christmas celebrations begin with decorations and company parties. Families begin preparing Guavaberry, a local Christmas drink made from the guavaberry fruit. Bakers prepare black cake, which supermarkets sell. There are excitement and anticipation in the air. Christmas Eve is the candlelight midnight mass at most churches. Christmas Day is the gift unwrapping day followed by Christmas lunch and family time all day long. As is the British tradition the day after Christmas Day is Boxing Day. Boxing Day is another holiday, and most people tend to visit friends and family with lots of food and drink wherever you go. A beautiful time. British Virgin Islands Christmas!
Merry Christmas!!
